Plate in the microwave? How to know?
Materials that cannot be used in the microwave:
We all know that the number 1 material to ban from the microwave is metal (or aluminum), the same goes for:
- Crystal plates.
- Plastic (whatever some are designed for, it is usually indicated on the plate if possible)
- Terracotta plates.
Materials that can be used in the microwave:
- Glass
- Ceramics (earthenware or undecorated porcelain)
- Plastics that are labeled “microwave safe” generally have a microwave logo on them.
I have a doubt, what should I do?
The method to test if my container or plate is microwave safe (if it is not of course metal, crystal or terracotta) is simple: put water in the container, place it in the microwave -wave 45sec at maximum power, if the water remains cold and the container heats up then it is not suitable for the microwave!
Deleurde Plates
Most of our plates are ceramic and therefore microwaveable.
